What is Laser Therapy?
Laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation, is an FDA approved, non-invasive treatment modality that utilizes clinically tested wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular processes within the body, thus aiding horses by promoting tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and alleviating pain.
How does laser therapy help my horse?
Laser therapy works by delivering specific wavelength of light energy to targeted areas of the horse’s body. Like plants absorbing sunlight through photosynthesis, cells in the body absorb light energy that stimulates the body to release pain relieving compounds, increases circulation and energizes the cells to participate in the healing process through increased production of ATP.
